Coastal Lovin'

Our last day in Italy was kind of a whirlwind..
We woke up early,
and together with some friends,
we rented a driver who took us all along the Amalfi Coast.
Our first stop was Pompeii,
an ancient Roman city that was ruined by the eruption of the great Mount Vesuvius.
It was a bitter sweet feeling to walk down those ancient paths..
amazing to take in all the sights and history, yet devastating to think of all the people that lost their lives that day.

After a few hours of exploring around Pompeii,
we hopped back in the car,
and were whisked off to take in some of the most beautiful views of the Italian coast.
The Amalfi coast was declared one of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites for its undisputed beauty and the uniqueness of its natural landscape.
We just couldn't get enough of the romantic sights,
urging our driver to pull over every few minutes,
just so we can take it all in for a while longer.

We spent a few blissful hours in Sorrento,
where we bathed in the sunshine and ate the most delicious pizza.
Unfortunately, time flies when you're having fun,
so it wasn't long before we had to get back in the car to drive towards the city of Naples.

Entering into the hustle and bustle of Naples was kind of a harsh snap back into reality,
but nevertheless,
we enjoyed walking through the busy streets,
canoli in hand,
until the sun set and it was time to move on to our next adventure.
