Obsessed

Happy Friday everyone! Can't believe how fast this week flew by. What does everyone have planned for the weekend?

Currently obsessed with color blocking and envelope clutches. How perfect is my new green clutch from ASOS? I absolutely love it!

In other news... I'm in an uber great mood today. You want to know why? Do yah? Well, because I just got a phone call telling me that I won two roundtrip tickets to Hawaii!! Yahoo! Couldn't be more excited, especially since the hubs and I were already planning to make our way out there next year. Lucky us. And being that I'm a firm believer in "what goes around, comes around", I'm carrying over my good luck to you, dear readers. Stay tuned, because there will be an AWESOME giveaway on my blog in the next few weeks! Ta ta!

First Prince William, then Prince Albert... royal weddings are popping up all over the place, but it's the queen of fashion that steals the wedding cake today (pun intended, obviously). That's right kids, Kate Moss and Jamie Hince officially tied the knot in the Costwolds this afternoon. The bride looked stunning in a vintage-style cream dress and matching floor length veil, designed by none other than her close friend John Galliano. It gets even better. Her shoes were specially made by Manolo Blahnik, and include a blue insole to serve as her "something blue". How happy does our little Katie look? Cheers to a lifetime of love and rock and roll guys! I sincerely hope they make it last, don't you?

Can you guess what this post is about? Just take a close look... does anything seem bigger? Longer, perhaps?

That's right folks, last night I got eyelash extensions, and I'm officially hooked! I've always lusted for those butterfly long lashes, and although falsies are always fun for a night out, they're not quite realistic for everyday wear. I've considered trying Latisse, but the constant warnings of all the side effects freaked me out a little.. are longer lashes worth giving up my baby greens for? Probably not.

That's when I decided to try extensions. I've been hearing more and more about them lately, and after reading a few success stories on several blogs, I decided to give it ago. Extensions are a little pricy, but I figure that feeling fabulous on my birthday is worth the investment. The whole procedure took about an hour and a half... "just take a little nap, and when you wake up, you'll have gorgeous lashes", is what the lady at the salon told me. What a concept, huh? The experience was totally painless, and she was right, I was able to snooze for a few minutes, and when she was all finished I looked in the mirror and was very pleased with what I saw.

The only downside? I've been fluttering my eyelashes waaaaayy too much today... hahaha! Of course everyone is different, and if you decide to try out lash extensions, you should probably check with your doctor to make sure you're not allergic to the type of glue that they use. Once you have the go-ahead however, dive right in without fear! Your eyelashes will not fall out, (ok, don't quote me on this), and you will feel fa-bu-lous!

Questions? Concerns? Feel free to email me, and I'd be happy to give you more details about my experience.

Like a little giddy girl, I could hardly hold still as I sat and watched the red carpet coverage of the Metropolitan Museum's Costume Institute Gala. I'm never dissapointed by the assortment of gorgeous gowns at this annual event, but last night's exhibit simply took my breath away... I couldn't expect anything less really, from a night honoring none other than the late Alexander McQueen. Below are some of my favorite looks of the night. Who were your top picks?

By the way.. can we just talk about the size of Christina Ricci's waist? Beauty is pain, but it's so worth it!

I'm in L.A. all week for work, so I don't have access to all my Euro trip photos to share with you... So, till I get back to the mothership, I want to show you the latest accessory that I'm currently obsessed with. Let's talk headbands. Do you love or do you hate? I personally adore the thought of channeling my inner Blair Waldorf and donning a tasteful head piece. It's perfect for dressing up a simple outfit, and the options are limitless! Just check out some of these beautiful pieces from the latest TAND3M collection, modeled here by the gorgeous Miss Pandora.

Spring is officially upon us, which means those dark, gloomy nails are sooo last season. I've always been a sucker for manicures, not only because they feel amazing and my nails always look perfect when I walk out the door, but also because my impatience usually get's the best of me, so whenever I try to paint my own nails, they're usually smudged within minutes.. buh! That was until I discovered American Apparel Nail Lacquer. Can we say obsessed?! I started out with just one bottle because I was drawn in by the color, but it didn't take long for me to build a whole collection! I meaaaan not only are the shades highly pigmented, (one coat is all it takes to get that gorgeous color ladies), but the polish dries within minutes, so I no longer have to worry about looking like a two year old just painted my nails! And did I mention they're also reasonably priced? Only $6 per bottle! Or, better yet, get 3 for $15. L Esprit and Office are my fave colors so far... I swear, eventually I'll own the whole set. Now that's what I call OBSESSED!

Now, I know that using argan oil to hydrate your locks is no new discovery, but I just have to say... I am OBSESSED with this stuff!! Seriously. I started using Moroccan Oil products a few months ago and will never ever stop, they're that good.

I have been bleaching my hair since god knows when, and although I love the look of sunkissed highlights in my hair, I just can't stand the damage it causes to my tresses. I've literally tried hundreds of repair products over the years but nothing has left me truly satisfied... until I tried Moroccan Oil. This stuff is the bomb!

Ok, so the first product I bought was the Restorative Hair Mask. Looooove it. Like most hair masks, you apply this bad boy after shampooing and let penetrate for a few minutes. I personally take it to a whole other level. After smoothing the mask throughout my hair, I actually get out of the shower and slip on a shower cap and a robe. This lets me walk around the house and go about my business while moisturizing at the same time. Extra points if you also slab on a colorful clay mask on that beautiful face. <-- This is a winning look to get caught with by the way... my husband loves it. Nooot. But hey, beauty is pain shame, right?

I typically use the hair mask about once every week and a half.. sometimes more often if I've done some serious styling over the weekend. It leaves my hair silky smooth, and the smell is to die for... kinda nutty.. a little musky? Anyhoo, get it. You won't regret it. Promise.

The other two products that I most commonly use are the Original Moroccan Oil and the Hydrating Styling Cream. I just want to be clear.. I am doomed with the oily-scalp-dry-ends syndrome, so when my hair dresser first suggested that I use OIL to moisturize, I looked at her like she was crazy. Luckily, she had a small bottle of it at her salon so I was able to test a little bit on my hair that day. And. I. Was. Hooked. I don't know what the magic trick is, but when I apply a dab of this stuff to my towel dried hair, it leaves my locks shiny and moisturized for the whole day. No oil, no frizz, no fret. The difference between the two is that I usually use the styling creme when I'm planning to curl my hair or actually put more effort into it other than just gliding a hair straightner through it a couple of times. That's it.

So now you know my secret. The products aren't the cheapest in the world, but you're only supposed to use a tiny amount each time, so they will last you foreeeeever. So worth it.

What are your best hair tricks?! Do share!

Obsessed

As always, this year is just flying by... Valentines Day already? Yikes.

This week I'm obsessed with:

1. Planning our next vacation!! Vienna, Prague and Berlin in less than two months!! Dying of excitement. DYING. Does anyone have any fun/foodie suggestions for any of these cities? Holler!

 2. Valentino Couture Spring 2011 collection. Easy, breezy, beautiful...

3. Vanilla waffles from Hash House a Go Go. The best part? They offer take-out, so you don't have to wait an hour to be seated on those hangover Sundays anymore.

Happy Monday everyone!!

Obsessed

So I'm starting a new series in order to live in the present and appreciate the little things in life. This week, I'm obsessed with:

1. Southwest Airlines - Bless you for still allowing us to check two free bags for domestic flights. God knows I'll need them to pack all those giant coats for our trip to Chicago this weekend! Ten degrees?! Eeeek!

2. Downtown Disney District - I've been working on assignment in Anaheim for over a week now. Although I hardly get to see the light of day, I'm sure I'm not the only one who associates this city with the happiest place on earth. I love being able to walk around the jolly promenade of Downtown Disney while I'm up here. The close proximity to Mickey is rubbing me the right way.. it's aaaaalmost just as good as being inside the park. "Almost" I said. Nothing beats the real deal.

3. In Love with San Diego first official getaway!!! That's right. Stay tuned because I've got one coming for you. Giveaway details will be announced this Friday!

Happy Monday everyone!
