Cheap Thrills

I've been staying in Anaheim for work for the past two weeks now, and although I don't love being away from my family and friends in San Diego, I sure do enjoy exploring new areas, and revisiting old favorites.

One of my favorite places on earth is Disneyland - I mean who doesn't love Mickey's main hangout joint? I love that I could see the fireworks every night from my hotel room, and the fact that I could literally walk to the theme park, if I so desired. But can someone tell me when the heck did the tickets get so dang expensive? More than $100 for a single day hopper pass? Yikes..

It's nice to know that there are always alternatives though. If you're on a budget like me, there's always the option of skipping the park and just taking a leisurely stroll through Downtown Disney. Yep, that's where you'll find me on any given weeknight for the next few weeks.

Just being in the vicinity of the Magical Kingdom brings back so many memories of the times when I visited the park with my bestie back in the day, and automatically puts me in a giddy mood. If you're ever in the area, but don't have a few hundred dollars to spend on tickets, consider making it a date night with dinner and a movie. Downtown Disney has a whole bunch of fun restaurants, like Rainforest Cafe and the Jazz Kitchen, and a movie theater right in the middle. I know I had a great time wandering around the area.. felt like a kid again!

Aw, this looks like such a fun time! I love that you made the best with what you had (or in this case, what you didn't have--money). Great pics.

How fun!! I'm probably the only American that has yet to visit a Disney park. One day... one day...
