Weekend Diary

Uhhhhh..

I have been SO busy with work for the past couple of weeks.

Sorry for the lack of posts lately,
but I've had absolutely no time to upload photos.

But alas...
here's a mash-up of a couple of shots from last weekend.

Since I'm on the road M-F,
I try to squeeze in as much valuable time with my loves during the weekend, as I possibly can.

All this lovin' leaves me way more exhausted by Sunday night,
but it's totally worth it.

Anyway,
last weekend I....

- celebrated my promotion with friends at Altitude Sky Lounge
-inhaled late night snacks at La Puerta
-hung out with family and wished one of my nephews a very happy 1st birthday (holy crap how time flies!)
-participated in a very successful girls day, during which we brunched at Cafe Chloe, shopped for bridesmaid dresses at Bella Bridesmaid, and finished the day off by downing complimentary drinks at Sidebar.

All in all,
it was a weekend for the books!

And what has everyone else been up to, hmmm?

Boo!

"In girl world, Halloween is the one night a year when girls can dress like a total slut and no other girls can say anything about it." - Cady, from the movie Mean Girls

So true,
isn't it?

I meaaaaan have you seen some of the available options?
"sailor slut"
"naughty pussy"
or my favorite,
"sexy nun"

Huh?

I'm not gonna lie,
I've done my fair share of...
provacative costume wearing.
Why not?
Everyone else does it..
And if you got it,
flaunt it!

It's kind of funny actually..
Every year, just when I think that my dress can't get any shorter, tighter, smaller,
all I have to do is walk outside.
There is always someone who out-sluts me.
Thank God!

So I figure,
this shall be my last year.
I'm a mature woman of age, after all...

My "costume" has been ordered,
there's no going back now.
Wanna know what I'm going to be?

Sorry.
I'm not telling.

Yet.

What about you?
Are you dressing up (or down) this year?
I always love hearing people's fun costume ideas,
so spill the beans candy corn!

Welcome to Miami

Bienvenidos a Miami!

Can anyone seriously think about Miami without chanting that song?
Damn that Will Smith is one good looking man!

We had a chance to check out this sexy city before departing on our cruise to the Bahamas.
It. Was. Awesome.

Apparently we lucked out with the weather...
but even then, my hair turned into a fro the minute I stepped out of A/C parameters.

That was pretty much the only downside.
Oh, and the jelly fish.
Scary little creatures!
Almost had a mini heart attack after nearly stepping on one,
which turned into a massive laughing episode,
after I remembered how Joey and Chandler tried to help out Monica after she got stung.
The hubs said he would pee on me if my life was in danger.
I told him that if he even thought about it, I would cut it off!

Here are my recommendations for Miami hot spots...
just in case you're planning to be in the area any time soon:

  • brunch at Fontainebleau: La Cote - the fresh oysters were ah-maze! and the grey goose mojito? perhaps the most refreshing cocktail I've EVER consumed.
  • leisurely stroll around Bayside - if you get tired, there are some handy dandy waterfront lounge chairs that beg to be sat in.
  • stay at Circa 39 hotel - super affordable boutique hotel, right across from the beach.
  • late night dinner at The Forge - we seriously had the BEST experience here... try the "coffee and eggs" rib eye.. it's to die!

Can't wait till March so I can experience it all again.
My girls and I are taking over this gorgeous city for one wild weekend of bachelorette fun!

B♥♥K CLUB

I've always been intrigued by the idea of joining a book club,
and since I've come across some pretty great finds recently,
I decided to start one myself!

The first book that I would like to suggest to you is called The Paris Wife.

Can I just tell you something?
I haven't felt so engulfed in a story for quite some time...
It's nothing extravagant really,
just a story about Ernest Hemingway and his first wife, Hadley,
written from her point of view.

Reading the description,
I must admit,
it has the potential to sound very boring.
But it isn't... not in the least.

You'll be transfixed into 1920's Paris, and all of its glamour.
The food, the booze, the clothes..
What more can you ask for, really?

So here's a confession...

I kind of developed an itty bitty crush on Ernest..
that dog!
And Pauline?
That bitch!

This will all make a lot more sense if you read the aforementioned book.
I promise.

So what do you think?
Will you read it?
I hope so... and then we can gawk about it together.
Sounds like a plan, right?

And what about you?
Have you come across any titles lately that have you completely mesmerized?
Let's hear 'em please.

Bahama Mama

Sorry for the overwhelming amount of pictures..
just figured it would be nice to put them all in one post.

As you can see, plenty of fun was had.

Some highlights include:
  • crystal clear water and fluffy white sand
  • scooter adventures all around the island
  • brightly colored buildings that stand out among the lush green plants
  • Atlantis = paradise
  • amazing sea creatures around every corner
  • freshly caught conch, "the libido enhancer"
  • yard-long fruity drinks... maraschino cherries and little umbrellas included, of course

So what do you think? Gorgeous, ain't it? I bet you want to go there... like now.
Just remember... Protect ya tings! Always wear a rubber :)
