Obsessed

Spring is officially upon us, which means those dark, gloomy nails are sooo last season. I've always been a sucker for manicures, not only because they feel amazing and my nails always look perfect when I walk out the door, but also because my impatience usually get's the best of me, so whenever I try to paint my own nails, they're usually smudged within minutes.. buh! That was until I discovered American Apparel Nail Lacquer. Can we say obsessed?! I started out with just one bottle because I was drawn in by the color, but it didn't take long for me to build a whole collection! I meaaaan not only are the shades highly pigmented, (one coat is all it takes to get that gorgeous color ladies), but the polish dries within minutes, so I no longer have to worry about looking like a two year old just painted my nails! And did I mention they're also reasonably priced? Only $6 per bottle! Or, better yet, get 3 for $15. L Esprit and Office are my fave colors so far... I swear, eventually I'll own the whole set. Now that's what I call OBSESSED!

Reminiscing And It Feels So Good..

In exactly one week from today, the hubby and I will be taking off on another adventure. Where are we going this time? Well, we figured that there's no better place to celebrate our six-months wedding anniversary than Europe, since that's where we went on our honeymoon.. (<-- I know, gag.. I sound obnoxious even to myself). Nevertheless, by next Tuesday we'll be breezing through three different cities in three different countries: 1)Berlin Germany, 2) Prague, Czech Republic and 3) Vienna, Austria. Do any of my lovely readers have any suggestions of places to visit while we're there? I am currently in my obsessive planning phase, and even though we only have seven days left until we depart, it seems as though time cannot move any slower! All we can do is patiently wait and reminisce about our latest trip via photos... It's only been six months since we visited Italy, France and Spain, but I already miss it so... What fun vacations do you have planned in the near future?

AIRR

This weekend the girls and I went to check out AIRR, a swanky new restaurant and lounge, located in the heart of San Diego. I fell in love with the hip New York atmosphere the minute we walked in the door. The concept for this new supper club is a true definition of the ever so popular "fashion meets food" phenomenon, with the lounges inspired by Givenchy designs and the menu led by famed chef Tom English. The venue itself is separated into two, drastically contrasted rooms. We visited the white room first and I love love loved the decor!

Although I was a little disappointed that the restaurant ran out of scallops before I could get my hands on them that night, the jumbo prawns that I ended up ordering were de-lish! After licking our plates clean, we walked over to the red room to enjoy a few cocktails in the lounge.

I'm wearing: Forever top and blazer, H&M leather pants, Michael Kors watch, Chanel purse.

The ladies and I really enjoyed the experience, so I recommend you go and check out AIRR for yourselves!

Analog

Good Food, Strong Drinks. That's the motto for Analog Bar, and they ain't lying! Stopped by this place last night before heading over to the Lights Out Event at Vin De Syrah. I was pleasantly surprised by their happy hour deals.. $4 dollar well drinks and dirty martinis? Score! The real reason behind our initial visit to this awesome bar was our healthy appetites. The girls and I were determined to fill our bellies and I'm happy to report that Analog didn't disappoint with their clever menu selection. The popcorn brussel sprouts were our personal favorites, with the chilaquiles totchos coming in close second.

Popcorn Brussel Sprouts
Fresh & flash fried, topped with parmesan bread crumbs & bacon bits.

The Dirty Sanchez
Grilled cheese sandwich with sharp white cheddar, mild cheddar, mozzarella, jalapenos, bacon, on sourdough, with a side of dijonaisse.

Chilaquiles Totchos
Gourmet tator tots done nacho style with chilaquiles sauce, cheddar cheese, 2 eggs sunny side up.

Peace & Love

What are your plans for the weekend?! Thank god it's Friday, right? Tomorrow night the girls and I are heading over to check out AIRR.. maybe I'll see you there!

Cherry Blossoms

I love this time of the year.. trees are blooming, days are longer, outfit selection is greater.... This past weekend I put on my tourist hat again to visit the annual Cherry Blossom Festival at Balboa Park. It was a bittersweet experience.. the scenery was beautiful, but my heart ached for everyone who's still suffering in Japan. Really made me realize how good we have it.. living in San Diego, worry-free.

ChileCo's New Spring Menu Event

This past Saturday I was invited to attend an event promoting ChileCo Bistro's new spring menu at Eden San Diego. I had a really great time sampling some of the bistro's new signature dishes, sipping on complimentary champagne cocktails and even indulging in a short massage provided by Anatomy Day Spa. The event also gave me a chance to check out the new digs at Eden, and I was pretty impressed by the heavenly atmosphere created by NightlifeSD's David Laurent and ChileCo Catering's Chef Scotty Wagner. Here are a few pictures I managed to snap while there:

This place is super cute, the food is really yummy and the cookies... mmmm the cookies provided by The Cravory were SO good! Can't wait to check out this place in action.. it's just begging me for a night-time visit.
