Santa Baby

I'm happy to share that I attended my very first Ugly Sweater Party over the past weekend. I can't believe that I've been missing out on so much fun for the past few years! I pride myself  on going all out for themed parties, and this weekend was no exception. After finding out that the owner of the ugliest sweater would get a prize, the hubs and I got straight to work. Step one, peruse every thrift shop in the county to find an ugly Christmas sweater. Luckily, we didn't have to look very long, although the sweaters that we found were just not ugly enough.. which brings me to step two, print out as many Michaels coupons as I can find so I can go hot-glue-gun crazy all over the place. Done and done. Step three? Throw those ugly sweaters on, grab my home-made potluck dish and white elephant gift, and get the show on the road! Unfortunately, neither I nor my husband (aka Mr. Nipples... if you look close enough at the picture below, you could probably figure out why he got that nickname) won the title of the Ugliest Sweater King/Queen, but that's ok, because we had an amazing time being silly with great friends, and that's all that truly matters!

Hi,
My name is Anna and I'm Swedish. I just happened to see your blog when I searched for San Diego. That gave me an idea though...! I'm going to San Diego for the second time in my life in January to visit my boyfriend who lives there. Unfortunately he has to spend a lot (A LOT) of time in school, so I'm looking around for things to do while he's there. So I though that maybe you have some good advice (if you have time, that is)? :) What is nice to do around the SD area if you're gonna do it by yourself?
Thanks! :)
Anna
PS. Wonderful sweaters!

Hi Anna!! I'm so happy you came across my blog. As you can tell, I love San Diego! There's a ton of things to do, and January is like every other month in this city - the weather is gorgeous! If you're going to be spending some time by yourself, I recommend heading over to Babloa Park. You can wander through numerous museums, or just sit out and people watch over a picnic on the grass. Another thing I recommend is heading over to the beach. Although it may be too cold to actually get into the water, you can have lunch and then go shopping by the pier. For some cute, cheap boutiques, I recommend heading over to Pacific Beach. There's a ton of little shops there that you will probably enjoy. I could really go on and on about fun things to do in SD. Feel free to send me an email if you want more ideas (inlovewsandiego.blogspot.com) =]
