Coastal Lovin'

Our last day in Italy was kind of a whirlwind..
We woke up early,
and together with some friends,
we rented a driver who took us all along the Amalfi Coast.
Our first stop was Pompeii,
an ancient Roman city that was ruined by the eruption of the great Mount Vesuvius.
It was a bitter sweet feeling to walk down those ancient paths..
amazing to take in all the sights and history, yet devastating to think of all the people that lost their lives that day.

After a few hours of exploring around Pompeii,
we hopped back in the car,
and were whisked off to take in some of the most beautiful views of the Italian coast.
The Amalfi coast was declared one of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites for its undisputed beauty and the uniqueness of its natural landscape.
We just couldn't get enough of the romantic sights,
urging our driver to pull over every few minutes,
just so we can take it all in for a while longer.

We spent a few blissful hours in Sorrento,
where we bathed in the sunshine and ate the most delicious pizza.
Unfortunately, time flies when you're having fun,
so it wasn't long before we had to get back in the car to drive towards the city of Naples.

Entering into the hustle and bustle of Naples was kind of a harsh snap back into reality,
but nevertheless,
we enjoyed walking through the busy streets,
canoli in hand,
until the sun set and it was time to move on to our next adventure.

Craft & Commerce

Man how I wish I was as "hip" as some of the fellas waltzing into Craft & Commerce this past Sunday... The hubs and I stopped in for a few cocktails just because, and had such a great time. The bartender was as sweet as a button, and the decor was to die for. Have I mentioned that they serve fried pickles? Nuff said.

Michelada - Negra Modelo. House-Made Sangrita. Lime. Cayenne Pepper. Salt.

Fries & Pickles  - Sweet Potato Fries & Corn Meal Fried Pickles. Blue Cheese. Malt Aioli.

This place is awesome, right? Venture in if you dare.. just don't forget your oxfords and suspenders.

Obsessed

So I'm starting a new series in order to live in the present and appreciate the little things in life. This week, I'm obsessed with:

1. Southwest Airlines - Bless you for still allowing us to check two free bags for domestic flights. God knows I'll need them to pack all those giant coats for our trip to Chicago this weekend! Ten degrees?! Eeeek!

2. Downtown Disney District - I've been working on assignment in Anaheim for over a week now. Although I hardly get to see the light of day, I'm sure I'm not the only one who associates this city with the happiest place on earth. I love being able to walk around the jolly promenade of Downtown Disney while I'm up here. The close proximity to Mickey is rubbing me the right way.. it's aaaaalmost just as good as being inside the park. "Almost" I said. Nothing beats the real deal.

3. In Love with San Diego first official getaway!!! That's right. Stay tuned because I've got one coming for you. Giveaway details will be announced this Friday!

Happy Monday everyone!

Here we go again..

Another new year, another set of promises. We go through the same set of notions every 365 days, yet it always feels so different. Old memories are stowed away, and resolutions to make new ones are swore upon so earnestly. I love this time of year.. everything seems fresh and honest. The gyms are packed and everyone around just seems more friendly. It seems as though everyone is holding up the same up-beat attitude - "this WILL be a great year", we all think at some point. I'm a true believer that we can make it happen. Last year was truly amazing.. I honestly could not ask for more. But why not shoot a little higher? My resolution for 2011 is to make every year from now on more memorable, because if we stay positive about the future, it could only get better from here.

We celebrated the new year in Rosarito, Mexico this year. We had such a great time playing games with great friends at our house on the beach. I seriously love that place and the fact that it's only an hour away. And did I mention that you can feast on lobster at any time for only a fraction of the price? Love it!

This year has started off brilliantly, giving me high hopes that my resolution for the year will be fulfilled! What was your resolution this year?
